December 08, 2008 - My Wedding

Last year, I planned December 08, 2008 to be my wedding date. I said to myself, I am going to be married on this date no matter what. With or without girlfriend, I'll be married! If I am still single by this date, I'll marry any girl who will agree to get married with me.... sound desperate? not really... just want to get married.... but, that was last year.

Today, it's December 08, 2008, I am still single, and still happy with my single life. I am no longer in a hurry (again) to get married. I may be getting older, but who doesn't? I know, i'll meet her someday... or if she passed my way already, i know we'll meet again... i'm very optimistic. :)

One afternoon with Ely, Raymund, Marcus, Buddy, Edward and Bella

November 26, 2008 - One lazy day for me, surprisingly... Nothing much to do, a break from the long hours of work. Having to deal with US partners and clients at night and dealing with local suppliers and contractors at day, is one tough schedule to follow.  But somehow, this day is something out of the normal routine.

Realizing that, I grabbed my backpack and headed South... SM Southmall that is to be exact :) It's the first day of the regular screening of the Eraserheads Reunion Concert Movie so I decided to watch it. I missed the concert last time (okay, okay, i know i missed a lot my friends), so I decided not to miss it again.


I bought the ticket for the first screening schedule, 1:20pm on the first day of showing, trying to pretend that it's the actual once in a lifetime concert... just being a fan i guess. It's 1:05, and before entering the theater, thought I could still grab some food. I bought some popcorn and drinks, paid it to the cashier and headed to the claiming area.  What???  The saleslady in the claiming counter ran out of the booth, and said she's just getting some supplies from the stock room. I tried to be patient and waited... 1:10 ugh, what's taking her long? Am I destined to miss the beginning of the concert? Oh No! I don't wanna miss a thing (it's me thinking out loud, not Aerosmith)! Then an assistant from the cashier's booth realized that now there's a long queue in the claiming area and the saleslady is not yet around. He jumped across the claiming area, and started serving us. Whew! 1:15, I'm rushing my way to the entrance of the theater, went to the deluxe section, seated my self comfortably, and started eating the popcorn just like a kid waiting for the movie to start. And then the countdown started... 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!!! Whoah!!!!

I have read a lot about the concert, watched some videos on youtube and even talked to some friends who were able to watch it live, so somehow I know what to expect and see, that's what I thought. But still, I felt something different watching it on the big screen, and seeing it for the first time. There's the excitement of seeing them (Ely, Raymund, Marcus and Buddy)together again, playing music just like the old times, and the songs really took you into one more ride down memory lane... I just realized that I was singing along with them. and it feels great to be a fan again.

Ely, Raymund, Marcus, Buddy - thanks for the time... It's great to be with you again guys! :D

I stepped out of the theater feeling great...


Hmm, it's still early... I don't have to hurry back to work. I know is the opening day of "Twilight". I haven't read the book, didn't have the time to check the reviews, The only thing I know about it is that it's a bestseller, my niece Bea is into it, and so is my sister Echeow. So what now? For someone who's trying to kill some time, I bought a ticket to watch the movie (don't scream at me Bella and Edward fans)!


The crowd is a mixed one, but majority are students (I hope they did not cut classes just to watch this on the first day), yuppies, and the emo gens. I was hoping to see some gothic individuals (being a vampire movie), but unfortunately there's none. :)

The plot is common you might say, and the movie may have started on a slow pace, and then moves a little faster and builds up the storyline, but it's one entertaining movie, err, story... I can't help but notice the resemblance of "Edward" to Troy Montero (did you notice that also hehehe, or is it just me) and "Bella" to my niece Bea (let me know what you think, or I may have associated her too much with Twilight or Twilight to her... whatever :D ). I have questions left unanswered at the end of the movie, but being a movie based on a book, it's a common knowledge that some answers can be found only if you have read the book. So what to do now? I better read the book if I'm really looking forward to the next movie... or if i want to follow the story of Edward and Bella. But I'm keeping that to myself, for now... :D

How time flies! I thought it was just this year, but it seems my last post on this blog was October 2007. Whew! Where was I from October 2007 to July 2008?? Hmmm... may be I was in a galaxy far, far, away! :D

So what's new? I have outlined some of the things that happened this year on my other blog, tampokna. But it's just a short list, because I may not even be able to finish it, or I may not be able to update the blog again if I'm going to write everything.

Uhm, yes, I was able to visit the US (May 23-June 09), and had so much fun! The pictures are on my Friendster account. But you have to be my friend to view it, sorry. But I'll try to write something about that visit. :D

I think the "December" wedding may not happen this year... Why? Because I am single and available still (as of this writing, hehehe). But who knows, I may meet her before December. But just to be on the safe side, let's say, I'm looking for a December 2009 wedding. That would be more realistic. :) I'll keep you updated....

I will update this blog as often as I could... promise!

A TRIP BACK TO WICKER PARK

SPOILER ALERT: Do not watch the video if you haven't seen the movie yet or if you plan to watch the movie in the future. But if it's okay with you, just enjoy.
Wicker Park is one of the most romantic movies I have seen. I love the way the movie was presented and i got hooked the first time I watched it, and even more hooked when I watched it again.
I won't make a review of the movie but I would like to comment on the final scene. The scene on the airport is a classic! With Coldplay's "The Scientist" playing on the background, the movie makes us "feel" the love that is shared by the main characters; with the way they kissed, embraced, and looked at each other... it's awesome! You can feel the longing, and the pain that they have gone through but what matters most is that they're together, finally.  It shows how two people can forgive, forget and simply believe in the power of love.  No words were uttered but the scene made me see and feel how it is to be really in LOVE.  And it's a wonderful moment... truly romantic!
And i'm hoping, that one day, I could find that moment, where I could share the passion, the love I have for someone... and i want that moment to be a classic!
