A TRIP BACK TO WICKER PARK

SPOILER ALERT: Do not watch the video if you haven't seen the movie yet or if you plan to watch the movie in the future. But if it's okay with you, just enjoy.
Wicker Park is one of the most romantic movies I have seen. I love the way the movie was presented and i got hooked the first time I watched it, and even more hooked when I watched it again.
I won't make a review of the movie but I would like to comment on the final scene. The scene on the airport is a classic! With Coldplay's "The Scientist" playing on the background, the movie makes us "feel" the love that is shared by the main characters; with the way they kissed, embraced, and looked at each other... it's awesome! You can feel the longing, and the pain that they have gone through but what matters most is that they're together, finally.  It shows how two people can forgive, forget and simply believe in the power of love.  No words were uttered but the scene made me see and feel how it is to be really in LOVE.  And it's a wonderful moment... truly romantic!
And i'm hoping, that one day, I could find that moment, where I could share the passion, the love I have for someone... and i want that moment to be a classic!
Note: If you want to listen to the complete song, and watch more scenes from the movie, please check this one.

IRIS

And I'd give up forever to touch you
'cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that i'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now.

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
'cause sooner or later its over
I just don't want to miss you tonight...

I was moved by this song even before i got the chance to watch the 1998 movie "City of Angels" (with Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan). And after watching the movie, i became more attached to the song that everytime i hear it, i can't help but think as to how far would a man go to pursue the love of his life. In the movie, the angel Seth decided to "fall from grace" to be with his love, the heart surgeon Maggie. Would someone be that "foolish" to give up everything for love? And that was inspiring...

My love for this song never faded. And just this year, something beautiful happened. This song brought me closer to someone, someone i haven't met but fell in love with. We talk a lot, exchange ideas, share views and emotions. We just can't meet yet, but i know we will soon. And i'm thinking, would i give up forever just to see her, just to be with her? Would I be able to touch her hand or even be given the chance to see her smile? i dont know, i really don't know, but i might, who knows.

And the song keeps on playing in my mind.... and i am happy...

Thanks to close2yah for inspiring me to write again... have a great day sis! and thanks for the video link as well! :D

Eternal Sunshine

I was given a chance to watch the premiere screening of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (No, don't worry... I won't be reviewing the film). The film is about Love, and Losing, and Forgetting, and Finding Love again... Love is a universal thing. We do find a lot of great stories about Love and Loving. Great movies about great love stories, even tragic ones... but as they say, nothing beats a real love story, something that is not out of one's imagination, but out of someone's feelings and recollection.

In the forum that I "moonlight" as a "moderator", people sometimes ask me for advices about their personal problems... love problems. Sometimes I am asked if I am a doctor, or a psychiatrist, or a love guru, or even a sex guru, because they look at me as if I'm an authority when it comes to love and everything that comes with it. I'm thankful and flattered about the way people in that forum treat me. And I used to joke around that maybe they respect my views and opinions simply for the reason that I'm one of the oldest in that forum when it comes to the biological age (which reminded me that I'll be 35 this September). They find my advices educational, mature, and natural, logical, and as one claims, personal... as if every advice that I give is something coming from the heart, as if I feel what they are feeling. I always tell them that I'm just a regular guy who experienced the joy of loving, the pain of losing, the happiness of being in love, and the darkness and pain of grieving... that I'm just like them, and I am one of them.

They would ask me things as simple as "what it feels to be in love" up to the complex "What shall I do, I'm in love with a married guy", or something like "What is the right time to have sex" or "is gay relationships okay". But the most common are questions about letting go, falling in love with the wrong person (or at the wrong time), and the pain of losing someone you love.

This of being an "adviser" is really beyond my profession. I work as a Supervisor in an I.T. office in Makati. And that of being a moderator and adviser is something I never expected. Things happen unexpectedly... We love, we dream and we hope... then everything will stop and will start to crumble down. My love story will be a novel, a series, if I will put it in writing. It has all the elements of a good novel: humor, love, tragedy, drama, suspense, action. Been into a lot of experiences, been into the rollercoaster ride of my life... had my Ups and Downs, experienced the Best and the Worst of my life... but I'm still here... Living, loving, dreaming, hoping...

One thing I learned about love is that it is something you can't control. It's purely emotional. And as T. always tell me, "Emotions for what they are, can't be controlled". It surely takes a lot from us when we are in love.. and requires a lot more, when we have to let go of that love...

Maybe I do understand what people feel when they ask me for advices. I might have been there myself before...

We can't erase the memories of a love gone astray, a life gone awry, the memories of a bad relationship... but we can let go of the pain and the grief that comes with it... it may be hard, but we can always move on...

And going back to the movie, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind is a brilliant movie... but you have to be in love... experienced being in love, to fully understand it... otherwise, you will look at it as, "just another movie of my time".

Wasted + Love

Hi... been talking to myself lately.... and i find it healthy! i'm not going crazy and i know others may find it weird... but it's good and therapeutic; on moments that you need to be on your own...(especially when you do get a reply from "yourself". hehehe...)

I'm on an emotional rollercoaster, i'm happy, sad, happy, sad, happy, sad! hahahaha. there are times that i'm supposed to be happy, but i'm not... and there are times that i'm supposed to be sad, but i'm not... but one thing i'm sure of, most of the times i'm just normal, or at least pretending to be normal...

Been reading "WASTED" by Gerry Alanguilan... i have read it before, was able to "borrow" the book format of it, and bought it's latest resurrection, and as they say, the Final Edition... I love it! As how Karen Kunawicz puts it, "WASTED... is not about violence. It's about intensity, passion and most of all LOVE..."

The graphic novel simply illustrates one man's ordeal when he learned about loving and losing love dangerously... it's bloody hell...

But i love the final chapter, the conclusion, not because of it's sad ending, nor the bloody scene, but because of Eric's love letter to Jen. It's so moving and greatly describes the joy of being in love....

Here are some excerpts... (sir gerry, if i may....)

...sometimes I just can't believe how lucky I am, having someone like you in my life. You know, someone to be with when everything gets to be too much. ...

...sometimes I do nothing else but think of you. I would sit by myself, close my eyes, and there you are right by my side. I'd lean forward and whisper in your ear "I Love You." I'd put my arms around you and hold you tight like I would never let you go. It's a wonderful moment and I wish with all my heart that it would never end...

... I've had my chance to see other girls, to have girlfriends, get married even. But for some reason, I didn't. I've had crushes here and there, thought I had fallen in love once or twice, but NONE of them, I realize now, were ever really serious... I realized that maybe God had kept me away from all of those girls because I was meant for you. And not a day passes that I don't thank Him for giving me the most wonderful, the most beautiful girl, I have ever met. Everytime I see something nice, something really beautiful, I always think of sharing it with you, be it a wonderful movie, an extra-pretty sunset or a startingly exotic bird perched on a branch outside my window.

...If only such a thing could be possible, I would share with you all the joy there is in me. All the joy I have ever felt in my life. Maybe then you won't ever be sad or cry again... I want to stay with you all my life. I want to grow old with you, get sick with you. I want to take care of you and keep you from all harm.

... I really love you. I hope you won't get tired of hearing it because I won't ever get tired of saying it.

... Last night I dreamed of you. And it was so wonderful because in that dream.. I saw you SMILE... I love you so much!

Risking....

The following is from a friend, Marcie.... it was posted before in titikpilipino forum (a forum which i frequent); for those who are in love and/or falling out of love... I did not dwell much on this before, until now...

RISKING

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.

To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.

To reach out for another is to risk involvement.

To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.

To place your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk their loss.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.

To live is to risk despair.

To try is to risk failure.

BUT risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing and is nothing.

They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love and live.

Chained by their attitudes, they are a slave,

They have forfeited their freedom.

ONLY a person who risks is free.............
